Little Birdies: A Spring Art Workshop
Through Smyrna Parks & Recreation
Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Times & Ages: 3:30-4:15pm (2-4 with Caregiver)
Times & Ages: 4:30-5:15pm (Ages 5-8)
In this joyful spring workshop, young artists will turn simple cardboard shapes into charming, artful bird creations. Using paint, pattern, and layered details, children will explore color mixing and expressive design while giving their feathered friends plenty of personality. This workshop will engage children on multiple levels, encourage creativity and enhance fine motor and problem solving skills. Check out our Instagram to see some of our projects: @gessoartsatl. Please note, for ages 2-4 a caregiver must stay and participate in the class with the registered child.

Bloom Together: A Mother’s Day Art Workshop

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
Times & Ages: 3:30-4:15pm (2-4 with Caregiver)
Times & Ages: 4:30-5:15pm (Ages 5-8)
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative experience from the heart. In Bloom Together, families will create side-by-side, designing a meaningful mixed-media artwork layered with color, texture, and personal details. Young artists attending independently or with a caregiver will craft a beautiful, heartfelt piece just for Mom. Check out our Instagram to see some of our projects: @gessoartsatl. Please note, for ages 2-4 a caregiver must stay and participate in the class with the registered child. Ages 5-8 are welcome to attend on their own or with a caregiver for a shared experience.

Maker Moments: A Father’s Day Art Workshop

Times & Ages: 4:30-5:15pm (Ages 5-8)
Celebrate Father’s Day with a hands-on creative experience rooted in connection and creativity. In Maker Moments, families will design a meaningful mixed-media artwork side-by-side—exploring bold color, layered textures, and thoughtful details. Young artists attending independently will create a one-of-a-kind piece for Dad, filled with personality and heart. Check out our Instagram to see some of our projects: @gessoartsatl. Explore & Create Art Club

Dates: Sessions offered Thursdays, January 29-April 30 (We encourage signing up for back to back sessions!)
Session 2: 3/12, 3/19, 3/26 (3 weeks)
Session 3: 4/16, 4/23, 4/30 (3 weeks)
Times & Ages: 10:30-11:15am (Ages 2-4 with Caregiver)
Times & Ages: 3:30-4:15pm (Ages 3-5)
Times & Ages: 4:30-5:15pm (Ages 6-8)
In this exciting mixed media art class we will paint, collage, draw, assemble and more! Projects will be inspired by children’s storybooks and we will create work based on an image or theme in the book. Each week, we also incorporate themed sensory play such as rainbow rice, kinetic sand, jewels and more! This class will build self confidence and problem solving skills through the creative process. This is an awesome way to introduce your child to the exciting world of art making whether they already enjoy art or are simply interested in playing with cool art materials. Dates: Wednesdays, January 28 - May 6 (14 weeks)
Times & Ages:
Preschool 3s-4s 1:10-2:10 pm
Kindergarten 2:20-3:20 pm
1st-4th Grade 3:30-4:30 pm
